A serious fall slows down professional cyclist Daniel Federspiel at the Cross-country cycling GP in Gunskirchen
The cross-country cycling Grand Prix took place in Gunskirchen today in wintry temperatures and extremely difficult external conditions. After his strong 2nd place yesterday in the cyclocross race in Bad Ischl, RSW professional cyclist Daniel Federspiel was extremely motivated today. From the start he had a thrilling race with the German U23 cyclocross champion Fabian Eder (Heizomat Radteam), to whom he was significantly inferior yesterday: after 7 laps, the two were already clearly in the front and already had over 3:20 minutes Ahead of the rest of the field of 30 drivers. Federspiel and Eder drove towards the finish and everything boiled down to a thrilling finish sprint when the Tyrolean got his knee caught on an obstacle and fell badly. Daniel Federspiel then had to stop the race and was taken to hospital for an examination due to severe, persistent pain in his knee.
