On today's 5th and final stage of the Tour of Sharjah, Patryk Stosz secured 2nd place in the field's sprint. The short section of 94.1 kilometers was characterized by a few breakaway attempts, but a promising three-man lead group was also formed a few kilometers before the finish. In the mass sprint, Felt Felbermayr professional Patryk Stosz secured second place with an irresistible start after 1:56:41 hours and thus the next podium for the people from Messestadt. Already on yesterday's queen stage with the mountain finish in Khor Fakkan Al Suhub Mountain, Miguel Heidemann landed in 3rd place and secured second place in the overall ranking: After over 500 kilometers, the professional cyclist from Trier was ultimately 22 seconds behind the 21-year-old Slovenian overall winner Gal Glivar ( UAE Team Emirates Gen Z). Teammate Hermann Pernsteiner took 4th place in the overall ranking, 37 seconds behind, while Patryk Stosz finished in the same place in the overall points ranking. Second place in the overall team ranking completes the excellent result of the Wels professional cyclists.
“This is one of the greatest moments of my career so far. To achieve such success with the team in the first race is simply indescribable and the best birthday present,” says Miguel Heidemann, who celebrated his 26th birthday last Saturday. The Felt Felbermayr team was in action in the Emirates with Hermann Pernsteiner, Michael Kukrle, Patryk Stosz, Miguel Heidemann, Emanuel Zangerle and Jakob Purtscheller.
