Only 3 riders on the podium at the Tour of South Bohemia - Emanuel Zangerle also takes second place in Belgium

Only 3 riders on the podium at the Tour of South Bohemia - Emanuel Zangerle also takes

second place in Belgium:

2nd place for Felt Felbermayr cyclist Michael Kukrle in

South Bohemia

The Felt Felbermayr team was successful today in races in South Bohemia and Belgium: At

the Tour of South Bohemia 2024 (UCI 2.2.), the team only had 3 professional cyclists at the

start today due to illness. Despite this numerical limitation, Riccardo Zoidl, Sebastian

Schönberger and Michael Kukrle showed a top performance, which was rewarded with a 2nd

place for Kukrle in his home country and 4th place overall in the team ranking of the tour.

After 3:30:38 hours, he reached the finish line in a 5-man leading group that was able to

defend a 5-second lead to the finish and was only beaten by the Dutchman Casper Van der

Woude (Team Metec - Solarwatt). Teammate Riccardo Zoidl was also unlucky, as he had a

defect in a crucial narrow passage 20 kilometers before the end of the race, had to change his

bike and, despite support from his team mate Sebastian Schönberger, was unable to fully

catch up. “It’s a huge achievement for our team to be so present on this stage with only three

riders, which says everything about the strength, willpower and attitude of our riders,” says

racing director Rupert Hödlmoser.

Emanuel Zangerle takes second place at the first GP Stad Halle

But the Felt Felbermayr Express was not only successful in South Bohemia, but also in Belgium.

Emanuel Zangerle also took second place in the one-day race Grote Prijs Stad Halle (UCI 1.2.) over

174.3 kilometers. The Tyrolean showed a top performance throughout the race and took another

podium for the Wels team in the first race held in Belgium. Zangerle, along with Tom Wirtgen and

Josef Dirnbauer, was already in a large breakaway group towards the middle of the race, but the

group was caught again. After that, there were repeated individual attacks, Zangerle fought for a top

position until the end and was rewarded with second place after 4:07:48 hours, at the same time

behind winner Federico Savino from Italy (Soudal - Quick Step Devo Team).
