Felt Felbermayr Cycling Festival in Tyrol: Hermann Pernsteiner won the Ischgl Ironbike 2024 in the longest and most difficult extreme distance today in superior fashion. The 33-year-old from Burgenland broke away from the rest of the field in this traditional mountain bike race over 71 kilometers and 3,400 meters of altitude after 25 kilometers on the first difficult climb and gradually increased his lead. Even the altitude of almost 3,000 meters in the Silvretta massif could not harm the Felt Felbermayr cycling professional. Pernsteiner mastered the climbs confidently and on the descents he did not risk too much and managed his lead. Pernsteiner won this perfect race for him after 3:39:09.0 hours with a lead of over 6 minutes over the Italian Lorenzo Samparisi and the Swiss Frans Claes. "That was a cool trip on the mountain bike today. The marathon in Ischgl is one of the biggest and toughest mountain bike races in Europe. Winning here has always been my goal and I am very happy about it," said Pernsteiner at the finish.
