Today the Road Cycling League Austria 2024 continued in Lower Austria. As part of the 52nd Erlauftal Cycling Days, the Austrian top professionals had to complete a total of 166.6 kilometers in midsummer temperatures and Felt Felbermayr cyclist Sebastian Schönberger secured second place. On the 23.8 kilometer long selective circuit with over 250 meters of elevation, there were attacks from the start. In the first of a total of seven laps, Julian Pöchacker from Wels broke away with a few riders, but they were caught again. Then Felt Felbermayr rider Emanuel Zangerle attacked and was in the lead with three other riders with a lead of over a minute. In the last lap, the race became really exciting: the leading group was caught and Sebastian Schönberger from the Felt Felbermayr Express pulled away decisively with the Swiss Colin Chris Stüssi (Team Vorarlberg). The duo raced towards the finish in Wieselburg and Schönberger took second place after 3:58:15 hours and an average of 42.0 km/h. Teammate and last year's winner Emanuel Zangerle came in the first chasing group in a strong sixth place, 1:55 minutes behind. Schönberger and Zangerle are currently in third and fourth place in the overall ranking of the Road Cycling League Austria.
