Patryk Stosz's bad luck in a crash prevents Felt Felbermayr Express from winning the next tour

The Felt Felbermayr Wels team is currently in top form: At the Course Cycliste de Solidarnosc 2024 in Poland, it looked for a long time as if the overall leader Patryk Stosz would be able to bring the tour victory to the trade fair city. Unfortunately, the Felt Felbermayr cyclist had an unfortunate fall on the third and final stage from Jedrzejow to Jaworzno over 143.2 kilometers and had to end his dreams of winning the tour. With a great fighting performance, however, he took second place in the overall classification and was only beaten by his compatriot Tobiasz Pawlak from the Mazowsze Serce Polski team.

Mass crash after 80 kilometers thwarts tour victory

Stosz won the first half stage on Wednesday and on the same day he followed up with third place on the second half stage and took the overall lead. After yesterday's cancellation due to the weather, the race was able to continue today. Things were looking really good for the Felt Felbermayr Express up to kilometer 80, before Stosz was involved in a pile-up on a long descent. His teammates were able to get him back to the front, but the tour victory was out of the question. "Today we were just unlucky. But the team worked really well together and second place in the overall ranking is also a really strong result," said racing director Paul Renger, who looks after the team in Poland.
