Federspiel wins with an average speed of 35.4 km/h
A new record participation was achieved at the Imst Cycling Marathon 2024 with over 1,300 participants. Daniel Federspiel had extremely strong competition on the longest route of 110 kilometers. The field was closed until the climb to the Haiminger Berg, but at the 1,000 meter altitude Federspiel was able to pull away with Daniel Geismayer, Jonas Holzknecht from the Tirol Team and the German Andreas Wolayr. On the last climb, which stretched over 500 meters, only Gaismayer and Federspiel were at the top. In a thrilling finale, Federspiel secured victory and his first major title after his serious injury with an average speed of 35.4 km/h.
Patryk Stosz suffered a serious fall in Luxembourg
At the Fleche du Sud Wels (UCI 2.2) in Luxembourg, Felt Felbermayr professional cyclist Tom Wirtgen defended his 9th overall place on the 5th and final stage over 149.5 kilometers with start and finish in Esch-sur-Alcette. Unfortunately, teammate Patryk Stosz had a serious fall on a road divider two kilometers from the finish and then had to be treated in hospital.
